About Restructured

Why we built this

Restructuring is one of the most consequential things an organisation can do — for the people affected, for the organisation itself, and for the managers and HR professionals responsible for getting it right. In New Zealand, the Employment Relations Act 2000 sets a high bar: the good faith obligation requires genuine, documented consultation before any decision is made.

Yet most HR teams in New Zealand manage restructures with a combination of Word documents, spreadsheets, and email threads — tools that were not designed for this purpose, that don't reflect NZ employment law requirements, and that make it hard to demonstrate process integrity if proceedings arise.

Restructured was built to change that. We wanted to give NZ HR teams a purpose-built tool that guides them through the ERA 2000 process, generates the documentation they need at each stage, and creates an audit trail that protects them if challenged.

Our approach to NZ employment law

Every workflow in Restructured is designed around the ERA 2000's good faith requirements. We are not a generic HR tool with a NZ flavour added on top. We are built from the ground up for the specific obligations that NZ employers face.

That said, Restructured is software — not legal advice. We help you organise and document your process; we do not tell you whether your particular restructure is legally defensible. For that, you should consult a qualified NZ employment lawyer.

Restructured is built and hosted in New Zealand. Your data does not leave NZ. We take privacy seriously — we do not sell your data, and we do not use your restructure data to train AI models.
